5th UFO Finish

This is the 5th UFO finished. I had some blocks from about 10 years ago and needed a quilt for a Chook Challenge so just put them togther with a few extra blocks made from chook fabric.
This will be donated after the Challenge. Not as much quilting done this week as I'm still culling the stash and have donated another 6 bags this week.
Time to quilt now and get some more bindings done.

Chooks are chickens? or roosters? or are chooks both chickens and roosters?

Some of us were talking about animal names on line the other night (it started with the fact that one lady was paying more than $8 american for a gallon of milk in Hawaii...) then we started wondering why. Anyway, we decided that cows were female, steers are 'fixed' males, bulls are fully male, and cattle are all three. We are probably all wrong!

Is that the way with chooks? I was admiring your chook quilt, and, remembering that discussion, trying to see if any were roosters. :)

Lovely quilt! I only recently learned that a chook is what we call a chicken... (I have a chook shed pattern, but never new what the chook was...) If I got to a restaurant in Australia are chicken dished called chooks then too? (I need to know since I'll be there in May/June...)

Very cute! Good job on finishing another UFO.

I've been working on piecing tops the last week or so and I'm in the middle of some string blocks now. I seem to piece a while and then quilt a while. I like having finished tops ready for quilting so when I'm in the mood to quilt I just pull something of the shelf.

There's some cheeky looking chooks in that quilt LOL. It's great! Congrats on sorting out those bags of give-aways - feels like a load of the ole' shoulders doesn't it :-)
