First UFO finish for the Year

Thank you all for your prayers and kind words. I am finding it comforting to make hand made items to donate to charity in my Mum's name. Blogger hasn't been letting me play for the last few days so I hope to post a new post tomorrow.

This is part of a 1960s quilt I bought from an antique dealer in the US. It is machine pieced and machine quilted and only needed a new binding.

My Lovely Mum

Thank you so much for your many kind words for my Mum's passing. I managed to give her eulogy and honoured her work for the family and all the charity work she did. She was a seamstress and not a quilter but put together many quilt tops for me to quilt for charities.
She will be sorely missed and I have pledged 200 hand made items to chairty in her memory.
I've been busy knitting and crocheting and will list them as they are sent off.
I hope to resume normal blogging tomorrow.
Love and hugs to you all.

Sad News

My mother passed away in the early hours of this morning so I will be away for a little while. It's a blessing that she is now at peace but it will be difficult as my Dad's youngest brother passed away suddenly a few weeks ago.

New Beginnings

Last year was one of challenges and mixed blessings and I'm hoping that this one is better. I have decided to make a concerted effort to finish off my own UFOs as well as keeping up with the number of charity quilts I donate. Most of my UFOs will be donated as well. I also need to clean out more stash and get the sewing room in order and I'm sure that most of us are thinking the same thing.
I've made a list of 20 UFOs and have finished two off the list so far and will post photos soon. I've also made a quilt using the QAYG method using strips of fabric and batting. It was a great way to use up those skinny pieces of batting and I have another one in progress. It hasn't made much difference to my sewing room yet but I'll keep trying LOL.
